FREE ENERGY EFFICIENCY KITS

The National Theatre for Children (NTC), in partnership with Duke Energy, presented The Energized Guyz to our school on March 12. As part of the program, Duke Energy is providing free energy efficiency kits to every household. These kits contain several items to help you conserve energy at home and to help you save money on your energy bill. NTC is also throwing a contest with a $1000 prize for the school that signs up for the most kits. There is also a $5000 family prize - anyone who signs up for a kit is eligible for that prize!

To get your free energy efficiency kit, you can go online to MyEnergyKit.org or call 1-855-38MYKIT (1-855-386-9548). We can sign up for these kits during the rest of this school year.

What does it mean to be a Title 1 assisted school?

Riverview Elementary is a Title 1 assisted school. Our school receives funding from the Federal Government which allows us to buy books, manipulatives, and other resources to better support our students and their learning. The Title 1 teachers visit the classroom when your child is having reading and/or math and provide extra assistance during math and reading instruction. Having a Title 1 teacher in the classroom allows teachers to team teach and lowers the student-teacher ratio. They may also help your child on an individual basis or in a small group if needed. During the school year, you will be invited to other Title 1 parent meetings that will help connect the curriculum from school to home.
